Supra Pump 9/4/2008

:: Main Menu ::

On most cars, a fuel pump installation is not much of an ordeal, but on a mid-engine car, what a pain. In any case decided to upgrade the stock MR2 turbo fuel pump for a Supra pump to run the 540cc injectors.

What I found is that you need to remove the center panel inside the mr2 to unplug wiring, the handbrake equipment gets in the way, and the fillup hose is a real paint to get off the tank!!! Install was much easier, and things just seem to come together much easier.

The main problem is slipping the tank of the filler hose. I used a combination of tank weight and a very large flathead screwdriver to pry gently at the hose against the tank. I also opted to put a -4an fitting on the return line.
